The complicated wound usually needs the cooperation of different divisions and the platform for the contact and consultant. The laser could be important devices for wound healing process remodeling, including pro-inflammatory cytokines modulation, keratinocyte-fibroblast interaction and the skin barrier restoration. The LIOB (laser induced optical breakdown) had been proved for the neo-collagenesis with minimal dermal injury.
As for the modern scar care, we combine the aesthetic LASER instruments in aesthetic medical center. Except the scar prevention, the new concepts for traumatic scar management is earlier laser intervention with multiple combinations, including PDL (pulsed dye laser), AFL (ablative fractional laser), and the Q-switch Lasers. The potential indications for earlier laser treatment are erythema, hypervascularity, hyperpigmentation, hypertrophic induration, poor pliability, and restriction, as well as any clinical symptoms including pain and pruritus if presented.
In summary, Lasers may potentially support as the clinical conjugating tools for skin defects repair. The combined therapies for the management of traumatic scars and contractures should include earlier laser intervention for patients’ best available care after injury.
